To the residents & business owners of The Grove neighborhood, we’d like to thank you for the opportunity to host the Moonlight Ramble in your neighborhood. The Moonlight Ramble is the longest running nighttime bike ride in the country and attracts thousands of amateur cyclists from around the region. This year will be the Moonlight Ramble’s 59th edition and we can’t wait to share your neighborhood with our riders, many of which have been participating in this iconic event for generations.

Schedule

The Moonlight Ramble will take place in The Grove on Saturday, August 26, 2023. The Moonlight Festival will open to our riders at 7 pm and close at the conclusion of the event at 1 am. The Festival will consist of live music, rider support, a merchandise tent, medical tent and food and drink vendors. Many of the food and drink vendors are members of the Grove Neighborhood (Urban Chestnut, STL Barkeep). The Ramble (ride) will start at 10 pm, leave The Grove and tour downtown before returning. The course will close to traffic between 9:00 and 9:30 pm and reopen on a rolling schedule with the last of the riders finishing around 12:30 pm.

Street Closures

Setup will begin around 10 am on Saturday August 26, and will take place in stages over the course of the afternoon. An event of this size, we expect 3000-3500 riders, will require us to close Manchester Ave. incrementally as the day goes on. Our footprint will stretch from Tower Grove Ave. to Sarah. Road Closures will take place as follows:

  • Manchester between Tower Grove and Boyle – 10 am on Saturday Aug. 26 – 3 am Sunday Aug. 27
  • Manchester between Boyle and Sarah – 4 pm – 3:00 am
  • Sarah from Manchester to Forest Park Parkway – 9:00 pm – 1:00 am

We will ask that no cars be parked on these sections of Manchester as they close. No parking signs will be placed 24-48 hours in advance.

Vendors

The Moonlight Festival is well attended and one of the highlights of the Moonlight Ramble. The riders come looking to eat, drink, shop and explore the neighborhood. Vendor participation, especially from Grove businesses, is important to us. 10ft. x 10ft. vendor spaces are available FREE OF CHARGE to Grove Business District Members.

If you have questions regarding participating, please contact us at info@moonlightramble.com Thank you and we hope to see you in August!
