Linda Nguyen holds a Master of Social Work degree from Washington University in St. Louis, with a concentration in social and economic development and a specialization in nonprofit management. As the newest Project Manager joining the Park Central team, her duties will include working closely with community stakeholders in Forest Park Southeast and the Tiffany neighborhoods to establish a thorough needs assessment and detailed action plan, leading public infrastructure plans and implementation strategies, assisting with marketing and social media efforts for the organization, assisting in the establishment of special taxing districts and the administration of special taxing districts, as well as assisting in all aspects of economic development including attracting businesses and development to the area.

Prior to joining Park Central, Linda worked with Beyond Housing’s 24:1 Initiative in St Louis County to bring in more resources to the 24 municipalities that make up the Normandy school district. Working collaboratively with municipal leadership, she was able to attract over $100,000 in state funding for tree services into the North St Louis communities. Additionally, she has organized several community events and engaged in door-to-door visits to build relationships with over 500 residents and small business owners along Natural Bridge Road in their project to bring in more business into that area.

Linda is passionate and dedicated to the capacity-building of disadvantaged communities. She has over ten years of experience in social welfare case management and counseling support in an urban setting, working closely with seniors, people with disabilities, at-risk youth and families, victims of domestic violence, homeless individuals, etc. She has a strong knowledge of building client relationships, community outreach, conflict mediation, group facilitation, motivational interviewing, community collaboration, program planning and referrals. In the last few years, her professional practice include community economic development, policy research, capacity-building for municipalities, grant-writing, program evaluations and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) research.

Originally from San Francisco Bay Area, Linda moved to St Louis two years for graduate school and quickly fell in love with the Midwestern hospitality and the amazing cultural scene of St Louis. During her spare time, she loves checking out the new art exhibits at the local museums, trying out new restaurants, exploring the great outdoors, and enjoying all the great free events in St Louis (the Muny musicals and Whitaker Festivals are among her favorites).

Linda believes that St Louis is on the cusp of greatness and is truly an amazing hidden gem. She is thrill to join the Park Central team in their revitalizing efforts and eager to work alongside all the community stakeholders.
